Der taxonomische Status von Brahmaea (Brahmophthalma) ardjoeno (KALIS, 1934) (stat. nov.) (Lepidoptera: Brahmaeidae) und die Verbreitung der Taxa der hearseyi-Gruppe werden diskutiert. B. ardjoeno scheint auf die Insel Java beschränkt zu sein. Das Taxon luchti DUPONT, 1937 wird als jüngeres Synonym von ardjoeno erkannt. Aufgrund signifikanter Unterschiede in der Morphologie der männlichen Genitalstrukturen muss B. ardjoeno von B. hearseyi (WHITE, 1862 ("1861")), getrennt werden und wird in den Artrang erhoben (stat. nov.). B. hearseyi wird von Sumatra, der Malayischen Halbinsel, Laos, der Volksrepublik China und den Philippinen nachgewiesen. Auf der Insel Sulawesi tritt eine dritte Art der hearseyi-Gruppe auf: Brahmaea (Brahmophthalma) celebica TOXOPEUS, 1939 ("1937"). |
| Abstract
In this contribution on the Indonesian brahmaeid moths, the taxonomic status of Brahmaea (Bramophthalma) ardjoeno (KALIS, 1934) (stat. nov.) (Lepidoptera: Brahmaeidae) and the distribution of the taxa of the hearseyi-group are discussed. B. ardjoeno appears to be limited to the island of Java. The taxon luchti DUPONT, 1937, has been found to be a junior synonym of ardjoeno. Due to significant differences in the morphology of the male genitalia, B. ardjoeno has to be separated from B. hearseyi (WHITE, 1862 ("1861")), and is elevated to species rank (stat. nov.). Specimens of B. hearseyi are recorded from Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Laos, Peoples Republic of China, and the Philippines. On the island of Sulawesi the third member of the hearseyi-group is present, which is Brahmaea (Bramophthalma) celebica TOXOPEUS, 1939 ("1937"). |
