Auf Grundlage der Belegstücke in den Sammlungen der Autoren und Auswertung der spärlichen Literatur wird über die Brahmaeiden- und Saturniidenfauna von Laos und Kambodscha berichtet. In Laos konnten 2 Arten der Familie Brahmaeidae und 27 Arten der Familie Saturniidae nachgewiesen werden, zumeist bisher unpublizierte Erstnachweise. Die Kenntnis über die Fauna von Kambodscha ist als eher dürftig einzustufen. Lediglich über eine Brahmaeidae sowie 6 Arten der Familie Saturniidae konnte berichtet werden. Die Aufzählung der Arten ist sicherlich noch unvollständig, dürfte jedoch einen ersten, wichtigen Schritt für die weitere Erforschung darstellen. Nachfolgend aufgeführte Veränderungen wurden vorgenommen: Archaeoattacus edwardsii malayanus (Kurosawa & Kishida, 1985 ("1984")) wird als neues Synonym von Archaeoattacus edwardsii (White, 1859) sowie Saturnia (Rinaca) microcaligula Nässig, 1994 wird als neues Synonym von Saturnia (Rinaca) cachara (Moore, 1872) eingestuft. Der Lectotypus von Loepa oberthuri Leech, 1890 aus "Ichang", China (im The Natural History Museum (London) wurde designiert, um Stabilität in der Namensgebung gemäß den Vorgaben des Code's (ICZN, 1985: Preamble; Art. 74) zu erreichen. Das zweite in der Urbeschreibung aufgeführte Belegstück von "Cochin China" [Vietnam] dürfte mit Sicherheit einer anderen Art angehören, die später unter dem Namen von Loepa anthera Jordan, 1911 beschrieben wurde. Dieser Falter erhält gemäß Recommendation 74F (ICZN, 1985) den Status eines Paralectotypen. | Abstract
This contribution deals with the Brahmaeidae and Saturniidae of Laos and Cambodia. According to the specimens in the collections of the authors and the locations already published by other authors for the fauna of Laos two taxa belonging to the family Brahmaeidae and 27 taxa belonging to the family Saturniidae were reported, most of them published for the first time. The knowledge on the fauna of Cambodia still remains poor. Only one record of the genus Brahmaea and six taxa of the family Saturniidae can be reported thus far. The enumeration of species still is incomplete, but could be a first step for further investigations. Nomenclatural acts: Archaeoattacus edwardsii malayanus (Kurosawa & Kishida, 1985 ("1984")) new synoynm of Archaeoattacus edwardsii (White, 1859); Saturnia (Rinaca) microcaligula Nässig, 1994 new synonym of Saturnia (Rinaca) cachara (Moore, 1872). The lectotype of Loepa oberthuri Leech, 1890 from ‘Ichang’, China (presently located in The Natural History Museum (London) was designated to promote stability according the demands of the Code (ICZN, 1985: preamble; Art. 74). The second specimen of the original description most likely belongs to a distinct taxon from ‘Cochin China’ [Vietnam], later described under the name of Loepa anthera Jordan, 1911.
